According to the latest data supplied by Natural England just 2% of hen harriers have been persecuted. By contrast 27% of the hen harriers remain happily flying around the uplands.
The data also shows that 17% of the birds are known to have died of natural courses, including from Avian Influenza and predation from other birds of prey.
Although animal rights activists such as Ruth Tingay will seemingly do anything to sully the reputation of gamekeepers with relentless online attacks, the latest data shows that hen harrier numbers are at their highest levels for 200 years. Surprisingly Tingay makes no reference to that.
So unlike Tingay's 'gruesome' list of innuendo and slander, we thought we would show you the reality of the plight of the tagged hen harriers.
